i am a construction worker and the heat got me this week. i mean the starting sweating profusely, got dizzy and disoriented, and started puking kind of got to me. haven't been able to work a full day since then so taking it very easy today and hoping to recover a bit for next week.
I've noticed after living in Nebraska since 1979, that if we have a really hot, sweltering summer we usually end up having a very cold, snowy winter. Anyone else notice that? I just wish it would rain.
It snowed today: COTTONWOOD FLAKES!!! Blah! That stuff makes me so miserable! My eyes get all itchy/watery. Tree pollens are the worst!
Seems like whenever we have a cold end of May, we have a sweltering hot summer (in SE PA, anyway). And, that's what's happening now. Last Saturday was a little frustrating since apparently, our furnace stopped working and it was 62 in the house. (I guess I'm fortunate that the furnace took a dump AFTER winter, instead during, like it normally does)
Funny thing about the seasons, winter is usually cold and summer is usually hot. And sometimes one or the other creeps into spring or fall. Not sure any of these things has much to do with global warming. That's better evidenced by ice cap reduction and minor mean temperature changes. But yeah, it was brutally hot the last couple of days. I got absolutely fried at graduation on Saturday and feel half sick because of it.
Comfortably Numb please take care. Heat stroke is an ugly thing to have happen to a person. Don’t hesitate to pay a visit to the ER if you don’t start feeling better.
