I think the rule of thumb is leave it...most people are going to look at painting as "not that big of a deal" either way, I wouldn't waste your time...I think a lot of people plan on doing some painting when they move in.

On a side not...years back I looked at a nice bank owned home...the parents must have been pissed because it looked like they gave their kids markers and let them go to down on the walls and doors.

We just sold my mother's house last year.  If your walls are damaged or dirty then it pays to paint.  Otherwise, I agree with teachercd-leave it.  Our realtor took pictures of the inside and outside of the house and put it on the website.  People are more apt to come look at a house when it looks good.  We got the price we wanted so was glad we put in the extra effort to make it look nice. :)

Yeah, some spots are a bit damaged & dirty (from the dog chewing on the freaking wall), but mostly, it just needs a touch up.  The problem with that might be that we don't have any more of the same color saved.

Most places can color match...even just from a picture (I think) so it might be worth it to look into that.

Hubby says he thinks he kept some back.  He surprised me and painted while i was away, but did so with flat paint, so hard to clean.  If not enough, we might do the color match thing - thanks @teachercd

He did that many years ago, and it has since taken a beating.

Realtor friend of mine recommends everyone paints kilim beige.  Makes rooms look larger and gives houses a clean slate look where buyer can envision their stuff in there.

Shocking discovery for me:  Dilly dilly is a female.  I thought Moraine and Roxy were the only women who consistently posted on HB

By the way, painting is so annoying.

I love painting.  Its what teachers are supposed to do all summer

I teach summer school...but I have thought about doing lawns.

@teachercd, I don't think there's much money in painting lawns, but you've got to do what you love.
