TD didnt count and now the same Mater Dei player has scored 2 TDs off pick 6s.

inadvertent  whistles are awful.  We had a SR LB on SR score a TD off a fumble recovery, but the sideline judge on their sideline blew it dead.  So not only did he not get the TD, but they replay the down, so the other team got another chance on 3rd down.  Didnt effect the outcome of the game bc we won by 50, but kid got his TD taken away.

I ref HS football. And no matter what you do its wrong one way or the other. Now, i myself wont blow the whistle unless i see a player with possession and hes down. Gotta see the ball. But then you get ripped for not blowing the whistle soon enough. Damned if you do, damned if you dont.

I’ve umpired for several years, hardest job I’ve ever worked, but man I made some good money on a side gig. The parents and the coaches don’t realize how they drive out so many officials. However, I can’t beloeve some of the officials that are out there, they are awful

Right on @RedSavage! Pretty soon games will have to be scheduled on Tuesdays or Thursdays and people wont be happy, but it will be the parents, etc fault. People are saying screw it and quitting. $100 to be trashed on isnt really worth it. And there are some bad crews. Our crew really prides ourselves on getting things right. It never fails we have coaches tell us "last week the crew called it this way" and we explain to them they were wrong. Or they ask us about certain plays from previous weeks and how they were called and we have to tell them that crew did it wrong. Have a little pride in what you do if you are going to do it and do your best to make sure its right.

My son had a wrestling meet Tuesday night.  One of our kids got a takedown at the edge of the mat and the official didnt award points, instead he called them out even though our kid had both feet inbounds.  It kinda irritated me at first but as the meet went on,  he was very consistent on making the same call for other matches.  I am fine with an official making a wrong call but he better be fair and consistent about it.
