@JJ Husker Yeah they gave themselves a little over one week and that was it. Pretty crazy. It's been weird for awhile, though. When they released the first Far From Home trailer, almost everyone figured out immediately that it took place AFTER the events of Endgame. I mean, I think most people had a solid, educated guess of what was going to happen in Endgame regardless, but that first trailer was still an obvious/blatant spoiler.
Yeah, Jon Favreau is a big-time producer and director now: he's got his hands in the new Lion King as Director, he's Producing (and directing an episode) of the new Star Wars series "The Mandalorian" for the new Disney+ service this autumn (and just confirmed he's coming back for Season 2 of the show), and he and Kevin Feige are only the birthfathers to the most profitable series of films in history.
But it's good to see him acting again, especially all things considered after Avengers: Endgame. Plus, Favreau had perhaps the best line in the whole movie (re: cheeseburgers).
@teachercdAlso, if you haven't watched it, go watch Chef. It's a nice little film about a chef starting his own food truck. It's from 2014, so it's been out a few years, so you can find it on Netflix, Hulu, and the like.
@JJ Husker I forget the exact details but Marvel doesn't have complete control over Spider-Man. I think Sony still has a lot of it. So I believe that it was Sony that is mostly driving the bus still - story, release dates, etc.
@Mavric You're essentially right: Sony still owns the rights to the character and they're basically just time-sharing with Marvel; Marvel makes and produces the films, but Sony advertises and distributes the films (and makes a majority of the money from them).
