my condolences to your husband.

Why, most of it has been his idea!  And, it’s taking some convincing to get my buy in (literally).  He’s now retired, young, and can do some of this himself.    

We just did somewhat the same, I agreed to new wood flooring throughout the house, ended up with brand new fridge, dishwasher, double oven and washer dryer along with the wood flooring.
