The fear used to be that the USSR/Russia would start sh#t on purpose with their nukes. Between Chernobyl and this and prior "accidents" it's becoming obvious that they're just totally inept and will likely kill the planet because they're stupid and have no business messing with nuclear technology.
I'm pretty sure I saw this on an HBO movie recently, nothing to worry about it's fine. BTW if you haven't watched Chernobyl mini series on HBO, I recommend it.
might or might not be the same explosion. i think this might be just an ammo dump cooking up. turn the volume up a bit and wait a few seconds after the flash to hear the explosion
@JJ Husker 100% agree. That's the second time now they've proven on a globally impactful scale that they have no idea how to manage nuclear technology.
they didn't say it was a nuclear explosion. a normal explosian can happen and spread the nuclear material around.....and i think that is what they are claiming here.
Sounds like it might have been a nuclear powered missile. USA built one in the '50s but abandoned it because it let off radiation. Probably not a concern for Russia.
@commando, I'm referring to your linked tweet which says (emphasis mine):
Watch the plumes of the explosion. It has the typical configuration of a mushroom cloud, typical of nuclear fission bombs. Conventional explosives don’t behave that way. This was definitely a nuclear blast of some sort.
I agree with you that it could have been a conventional explosive that spread nuclear material. But there are a lot of possibilities since the Russian govt isn't known for honestly or transparency.
