Baseball team hasn't looked great thus far but I'm willing to chalk that up to a tough schedule which gets far easier over their next 10 games. Would like to see them rip off a 7-3 stretch. 5-5 or worse would start to have me panicking a bit.
Baseball generally struggles early because they have to play a lot of West Coast teams including some powerhouses since the year always starts with a road trip due to weather constraints. One of the drawbacks of living in the Midwest.
Plus it's Bolt's first year. I'm still pretty happy with the hire because the direction of the program was pretty listless under Erstad. His teams seem to have some pretty good life to them so far, just a lot of close losses and a tough schedule.
I think baseball is in good hands. Basketball - yeesh. Hoiberg is still the best hire we could get. Let's hope this is a transition year thing and they're going to reload next season.
I actually have more faith in basketball than baseball at this point. Both should improve next year, but the bullpen issues for baseball are very real.
