I think most everyone is aware that's a possibility.

They're talking a period of 18 months to get this thing under control. If that's true, it may not just be the 2020 season that's affected, but the 2021 season as well.

I don't have a "passing thought" about it, I'm already anticipating that it doesn't happen.

If it does happen, it's going to be interesting to see what transpires over the next 3 months to allow it to happen, especially with spectators in the stands...

I don’t like to think about that, but it is a very real possibility and will be the least of our concerns if that is the case.

If you asked me to make a call at this very moment, I would lean towards saying yes the season will happen rather than no. Even this a.m. I was listening to discussions about the NBA resuming on a no-fans basis by June. Obviously, A LOT could still impact what ultimately happens, particularly since it seems like we still have large swaths of America that aren't taking this seriously and it's catastrophically embarrassing and deadly.

I *hope* they play games without fans. Depends how safe they can keep the teams while in close contact during practice and during games. If this thing is still raging in July/August, there's no way they can hold camps and have a season.

The season will happen.  Death tolls will be much lower than predicted.  All is well.  LINK

@knapplc That's basically where my mind is at.

The baseball season is probably dead to rights this year (I haven't seen confirmation one way or the other on that piece) but that to me is one of the few sports where you could play with relatively minor risk just because it's mostly a non-contact sport. Football though... all those coaches, trainers, support staff, 70+ players on each sideline... it's a lot. And that's before we consider the fact that spit, blood and sweat is flying everywhere.

Baseball would be perfect to play without fans. The most contact are mound meetings and holding a runner on base.
