Time requirements?  What do you mean?

Like the amount of work the students are getting?

The amount of work kids are expected to do AND get graded on.   Personally, I'm not complaining; but it sounds like some people are.  I'm curious, because I have the chance to alter my lesson plans for the next 7 weeks and I'd be happy to take some advice as I plan it.

My kids are on hour #2 this morning.  My kids are 4th graders.  It works in our house because we're all home.  But I can see how some people might feel overwhelmed after working then coming home to help 2-3 kids with homework and making sure stuff gets done.

Yeah, we have heard complaints as well.  I have really scaled back and my boss told us to do the same, scale back a bit.  I just had a class and we were only on Zoom for 10-15 minutes, we recapped our last project and I discussed the video they would be watching and we were done.

Then I asked them why Santa doesn't like being quarantined..

It is because he is Claus-trophobic

My other two classes, we are doing a lecture, I share my screen so they can see my notes, we watch two short videos (5 minutes each) and we are done after about 30-35 minutes, no HW for those classes this weekend.

My wife is also a part of the "West Omaha Mom's Group", and 99% of the time, it's an absolute hot f***ing mess. I don't know if I'd use it as an accurate representation of how things are progression.

If the West Omaha Mom's Group saw me walking on water...they would b!^@h that I should not be in the neighborhood pool if I don't know how to swim.

jmo but I would guess the majority of parents never help their kids with homework, or at most do the absolute bare minimum. So, since the kiddos aren't able to go to school, this situation puts a much larger burden on them to provide the help and oversight that usually is provided in the classroom by the teachers. That's likely a big reason some parents are whining about things now.

Parents are pissed and has less to do with the amount of work the kids are getting and more to do with the fact that their lives (the parents) are turned upside down by all this.

No parent minds helping their 10 year old with fractions for 20 minutes after dinner...

Every parent HATES helping their 10 year with fractions for 20 minutes after dinner when they have been with them ALL DAY LONG.

All good points guys.  I'm going to do like I do everyday in school, use my best judgement.  If people wanna b!^@h (admin or parent): come at me!
