TBH we're not beef roast people. I'm not sure what I'd do with one. Sounds too lean to smoke. Prob throw it in a crock pot. :P

I did smoke a whole beef shoulder once and it had the whole chuck including the eye roast. It was pretty tasty but there was a lot of other fat/marbling from the rest of the shoulder to help it out.

Roast in a crock pot with a can of cream of mushroom soup is one of my favorite meals. Doesn't matter if it's a chuck roast or a pork roast. Super easy, super savory, super good. A side of couscous or stove top stuffing and that's heaven.

And you can pry my crock pot out of my cold, dead hands.

SAVAGES and UNCULTURED SWINE.

Uncovered, roasted in the oven with salt and your rub of choice.  Either that, or on a smoker.  Chuck roast has a lot of fat to it.

In the oven in a turkey roaster is the greatest.

Cut chuck roast into pieces and make beef stew. One of my favorite meals. (The best beef stew recipe I've found is the one in The Joy of Cooking.)

I like to smoke it and then slice it thin for sandwiches (often paninis on homemade bread).

@Toe now we’re talking.  No defacing of charred meat and salt with cream of mushroom.

My god that looks good.

Big question...who puts their stew over bread?  I love that.

That looks pretty good. @KnappIc  That much sauce would give me heartburn though.

No, I don’t @teachercd.  I must save room for more meat.

Kenji is usually a good bet for recipes & techniques.

I don't think I've had any stew on bread since I was growing up. Or s#!t on a shingle, for that matter.

@teachercd I dunk bread in my stew, but I don't put it underneath. I put a baguette under stuff like braised chicken or stuff with a sauce. That's amazing.

Like Chicken & 40 Cloves of Garlic, with that sauce, it's like crack.  I'll put that recipe up here in a minute. I'm having it for dinner tomorrow.

I love dunking the bread too!  I totally end up making my stew so packed with calories...it is not good!

I save the bread until the end and then use it to get every drop out of the bowl.
