I don't understand thinking the number of notifications a person gets has anything to do with bothering people or if this is still a message board. 

You can get lots of notifications simply by being a more active poster. If a person posts a bunch of stupid or unpopular things then they're likely to receive a lot of negative replies, which generates notifications. That's exactly how a message board works.

you also get notifications for status updates.   so...here's another notification.

Me, Mavric, Moiraine, BRB and a few others would get dozens if not hundreds of notifications a day if we kept them all on. After a while you get tired of them and turn them off.

No, no. I'm very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, dickheads - they all adore me. They think I'm a righteous dude.

Wait....what/where is the core exactly?  Does it take an MRI to find it?

BTW, this status update, which wasn't even mine, has so far generated 4 notifications for me and I'm not bothered in the least.
