Those years of chevys are fairly sturdy, not sure if its push button or a lever engaged 4 wheel drive, the button types can be a pain due being vacuum driven. I'm assuming the fenders and rocker boxes are rusted out so if you do hit something you're not out much. 

As long as it is in decent shape and a decent price, I wouldn't be opposed

From what i can tell it doesnt have any rust.  And it has the tail gate instead of the barn door so hauling long things will be easier.
