I'm struggling with "opposite" of my tastes. I like virtually all kinds of music except for most jazz and elevator music. But I even like some of those depending. So I guess those few are what would contradict my general preference. I'm not convinced there can be an opposite when it comes to music or art.

@JJ Husker Just gave the same answer my mom used to give when we asked her which of her kids was her favorite.

@teachercd so she liked most of her kids but you went against her general preference?

Late 90s/early 2000s boy band/girl group pop music.  Look, I know it's complete, utter trash.  You know it.  I know it.  But I'll be damned if I don't get a big, dumb grin on my face when some random Backstreet Boys song comes up on the 90s on 9 XM radio station.  I can't help it!

@Xmas32 Nice! One thing I find interesting about 90's boy bands (but, perhaps, not unsurprising) is sort of the revisionist approach to them by many of my friends. I liked N'Sync and Backstreets growing up, but a lot of people talked a lot of trash about them. And now, when those songs come on at weddings (or when they came on at bars/clubs back in college) those same people BELT the lyrics like they've loved them all along. I'm like HOW DARE YOU

We had to listen to NOW 1 and NOW 2 during gym fitness days, 2-3 days a week for all of middle school. Now 90s pop music is ringing in my ears.

Also I'd be curious to see how many dudes will admit they enjoy a good Zig-a-zig-ah every now and again.
