    Pelini an average coach

Four years, people. He has had plenty of time to make his mark and so far, his mark is relative mediocrity. If you like finishing in the 18-25 range every year, he is the right coach. Is this team any better than it was last year? He isn't an elite coach, and I have 4 years of evidence to...

    Martinez as "Slash"

I used to chalk up Martinez's struggles to youth and injury. After last night, I'm pretty convinced that the kid just doesn't have what it takes to play QB in a BCS conference. So why not move him to WR, but use him in a myriad of ways in the offense? He can run the sprint sweep out of the...

Well, here is what I've learned

    1. Taylor Martinez is not a quarterback. 2. Bo Pelini is a great defensive coordinator. 3. We suck a$$.

    Something to Think About

We were the only team in the Big 12 to win on the road today. OU lost, Baylor lost, Mizzou lost, Texas lost, and CU lost. And we did it with a 3rd-string QB. I'll take it. Get well, T-Magic.

    No More Defenders

Anyone a little concerned about the lack of offensive players in this class? And moreso regarding the reasons why Carter and Gabbert both decommitted. There are real doubts out there about our offense. This is a real problem. Might be reason enough to consider replacing Watson.

    ANOTHER Uninspiring Win

I'm not the only one who thinks so. What is frustrating here is that this team can't put together a consistent, 60-minute effort. I got crap for complaining about this team's effort after the K-State win, but this was no different. Underacheivement? Or a lack of talent? Or poor coaching?

    What an Uninspiring Win

Yay. Big 12 North Champs. Yippee. Seriously - that was another frustrating game to watch. I don't know if it's the play-calling or the quarterback or the O-line, but goodness, we are not a good offensive ball club. Sorry to be a sour-puss, but that was a pretty unsatisfying victory. Is...

    Mark Richt

Ok, this is nothing more than me throwing a name against the wall, but ESPN has some rumors that if UGA falters down the stretch, Mark Richt could be out. Further, there continue to be rumblings around Shawn Watson. Given the interest other schools have shown in him in the past, it is not...

    How to Recover?

This very well might have been the worst performance in the history of Husker Football. That's not hyperbole. The 70-10 game in Lubbock was horrible, but we were playing a third-string QB in a new offense with major talent problems on the road against a good team. This week? We lost to an...

    True Reason for Offensive Struggles

It's the O-line, folks. I don't buy this is a simple issue of facing better competition. If you recall, we ran the ball down V-Tech's throats in Blacksburg. We've seen in the past two games how much trouble comes when you can't run the ball, or if you abandon the run. Whether it makes our...

So Much for that "Signature" Win

Penalties, poor execution, etc... Pathetic. Big 12 South >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Big 12 North

    Possibly Moving to Omaha

There's a decent chance I'll be moving to Omaha to work in January. I am stoked. Any advice on where to look for a house (preferably under 200K)? I've done some research and the Millard schools appear to be far superior to the Omaha SD schools. What say you Omaha residents?

    5-1

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a pessimist when it comes to the Huskers, but we are literally about 2 or 3 plays away from being 5-1, folks. The questionable personal foul call on Suh in the VT game, and any number of plays in the red zone in the 1st half today. I know we have to learn to win...
  14. Washusker

    Well, obviously

This team isn't ready for prime time. Very mediocre offensive line. Average defensive line, at best. Not a single playmaker on defense. Not a single playmaker in the WR corps. QB who can be game-planned. Ineffective special teams. And to be honest, the coaching has so far been blah. I...

    New Commit?

Rivals has a small teaser about a new commit. Anyone have any info on this?

    Watson to Stay?

Looks like there is a chance Watson will stay on the staff. I certainly hope so. He'll probably simplify the offense, make it more run-oriented (remember Colorado in 2001?), and he'll attack down the field more. Plus, it appears the team loves playing for the guy. If he and Lucky stay, I'm...

    The Case for Brian Kelly

The LJS makes a good case for Brian Kelly. Sounds like he's a great salesman and an offensive guru. And he sounds damn confident. Add him to the list of guys I wouldn't mind getting, along with Pelini and Grobe.

    Grobe Spoke w/Osborne

Tom Dienhart over at Sporting News says WF officials have confirmed that Grobe met w/TO in Atlanta. You know, Pelini has been my first choice for weeks, but I'm warming to Grobe. Wouldn't be disappointed if he got the job.

    NEVER

Have I been so disappointed in a Bill Callahan-coached team. What a complete collapse. Blame the players, yes, but they are coached as well. What a fitting way to end the career of the worst coach in the history of Nebraska football. Not even the announcement of Urban Meyer as the head coach...

    Lloyd Carr

That's what appears to be happening. This, of course, puts Les Miles in the mix for the job in Ann Arbor, meaning that Pelini could be at the top of the list for LSU. Interesting...
