With the abbreviated 2020 season and games getting canceled, I am curious if the BIG will revisit the 2021 conference game schedule. Has anyone heard if this will be considered? Here are a few thoughts about the Nebraska 2021 schedule:
I realize this is a year away but the planning for future seasons usually happens far in advance.
- Our opening game is in Ireland against Illinois. While a vaccine may be present, Covid will still be around just as the flu or other viruses stick around for a long time. Would this overseas trip be reconsidered if Covid is still a topic of conversaton?
- WIth the 2020 schedule being altered due to Covid, some matchups may have been changed from the original plan. Would that affect the 2021 matchups?
- We have played Ohio State 5 years in a row (starting in 2016 to 2020) and we are scheduled to play them again in 2021. Is that common to play a team in the other division 6 years in a row?
- Will there be adjustments to have more open dates later in the season to accommodate potential canceled games which would in turn cause the entire 2021 schedule to change?
