2024 Nebraska Husker Depth Chart Prediction

Hello everyone, with the season only a month away I put together a depth chart for the 2024 Huskers. This is going to be fluid with injuries and such, but I did my best to be as accurate as possible. What are your thoughts? Are there any names on this list that will change throughout the year? I tried to format it as best as I could, so let me know what you think!

Some Notes

* The running back room is going to be fluid after Emmet any of those guys could be the number 2.

* If Dylan can put up a Freshman campaign similar to Adrian we will be a dangerous team on offense.   Adrian 17TD-8 INT.... Prediction for Dylan 22TD-9INT 

* Could see Janiran in the fullback spot again depending on the opponent. 

* Carter Nelson will have a special position and play some wide receiver

* At wide receiver, some of the players could switch between the positions
* Demetrius Bell going down is tough because he looked good in Spring Ball. Nebraska has plenty of depth at receiver to replace him.
* I feel good about the top 6 guys at linebacker. I think one of the freshmen can contribute such as Vincent Shavers. 

* Blye Hill could be a starter once he is healthy. 

* Safety- It's tough to predict with so many guys. Many of our safeties will be able to play different spots. I am confident in the top 7 guys to get it done on the field. Rahmir Stewart and D'Andre Barnes are guys I expect to step up and get time at safety. Stewart made some travel squads last year. I also predict one of the Defensive backs from 2024 will get playing time toward conference play. Think like Rex Guthrie or Roger Gradney.

** I think this roster overall is just better than last year. Offensively, this team almost has to take a step forward with how bad it got last year. The QB room and receiver room are so much better and the RB room, Tight End room, and Oline room will also be improved. Defensively, they lost some key guys but plenty of guys have been developing behind them. The Dline and Secondary will be the strengths of this defense. The Cornerback room is worrisome behind Tommi and some players will need to step up at LB. 

***This is the most talented roster Nebraska has had in a long while. This is why Rhule has some high expectations for the 2024 Cornhuskers.

I don't see Dylan throwing 9 ints.  He threw what one INT his senior year?  I know its HS but for a guy who throws a lot thats impressive.  He'll take what the offense gives him and i think there are enough weapons on offense he wont have to force things like QBs the last few years

Yeah. A few dropped opportunities by the defenders, but interceptions were not really an issue in high school and I wouldn't expect that to change. Raiola makes good decisions with the ball. I expect this offense to generate a lot of production through play action, quick game, RPOs, screens and other 'safe' means.

I think we have an opportunity to put a few opponents to bed early. I think Kaelin will get his 4 games and we will have some special things prepared for Haarberg. I don't know if Raiola's raw stats will be mindblowing for just the fact we may be good enough he doesn't have to throw so many attempts in some games. We certainly hve speed to burn that can get some long TDs and size in the redzone that with his touch and ball placement skills he can take advantage. I'd expect his TD/INT ratio to be very good.

I would be more than glad if he throws less than 9 INTs, but we have been so turnover-prone lately that I have to see it play out. Also, it is great he threw 1 INT in high school. This is B1G football now and it is on an entirely different level.

Just due to his experience playing college football- and as a safe option in case our first two QBs go down. That is part of the reason why they took him after that graduate camp. 

But if we are winning by a lot in the 4th I could see Kaelin getting some reps.

I think Dowdell is the short yardage back. 

Rahmir is the 3rd down back.

EJ and Gabe are the 1-2 on the roster. Rahmir would be #2 if Gabe were to go down. I know we say this a lot but if Gabe is healthy he hits the hole hard and gets north and south in a hurry. Rahmir has a chip on his shoulder and Rhule really likes him. I believe he will play.

I don't know where Gramstadt falls on the depth chart, but if I had a guess then the answer is that he doesn't.

Yeah, I might have put too much on the attempts. It will be more like 350 to 400 ish. I thought Adrian attempted 347 while missing a few games but it looks like he played in 11 games his freshman year- came out early during the Colorado game. 

I don't know where Gramstadt falls on the depth chart, but if I had a guess then the answer is that he doesn't.

Again, I would say he is in a battle for third-string. Hence, why I put him at 3a and 3b. My reasoning is if we are down to a 3rd string qb we go with Kaelin only if we are trailing because he can air it out better. But if we are winning, we go with Gramdstadt because his running ability can open up the playbook more and I trust he could manage the game enough to help us win. Jayln can ball and could probably start at FCS schools but chose to come here to live out his dream. I doubt we see him unless it is in an emergency situation or we are winning by a lot. To the bold, in my opinion he is 3rd string with an OR next to Kaelin.

Again, I would say he is in a battle for third-string.

What evidence do we have for that? The fans and media seem way more interested in that possibility than the coaches. When the coaches talk QBs, they constantly and consistently talk about 3 QBs.....to the point that if one of the three are brought up, they insert the other two names. They only talk about Gramstadt when specifically asked by a media member and then it's about his experience in the meeting room or desire to coach or some other generic praise that doesn't involve him competing with the other three.

They've been very deliberate on how they talk about QBs. I wouldn't expect a surprise when the depth chart drops at this position without significant change in that approach.
