5 Keys to Success for Huskers in 2012

It seems as though every one has a different opinion about how the 2012 Huskers will stack-up against the competition. There is no doubt the Huskers have some holes to fill on both sides of the ball. Nebraska seems to perform well when expectations are low and perform poorly when expectations are high (like last year). This makes the 2012 season look promissing for the Cornhuskers. No one is picking them to win their division, the B1G, or compete in a BCS game.

I wrote an article about what the Huskers need to do in 2012 to be successfull. Read more.... http://bleacherrepor...huskers-in-2012

Find a 3rd Option on Offense
Martinez and Burkhead accounted for 88 percent of the offensive production for the team. Nebraska’s opponents stacked the line of scrimmage to stop the dynamic dual.

I realize T-Mark and Burkhead account for the overwhelming majority of our offense. But 88%? Really? You're not giving our receivers zero credit for receptions are you? Because Kenny Bell had 288 reception yds in the last half of the season--from the Minny game on. That's 12% of our 2425 total yds offense for those 7 games. But maybe that's the way they tally that stat. I dunno.

I'm worried about LB troops and DL pressure. No David and Crick. Perhaps resurface 2007 Clownahan era ?

Ball State: surrender 40 pts

Missery: 41 pts

OkleLite (before Weeden and Blackman arrival): 45 pts

KU: 76 pts .... yes, 76 pts !

sCUm: 65 pts

That is a pretty weird way to tally it. The only people who can get yards are running backs and quarterbacks. Almost every team in the country is going to have most of their yards coming from the same two or three players if you only count the QB in passing yards.
