Another Chance to Vote for Suh!

What really annoys me is to see all these media outlets continually pumping up the Texas game as the reason to vote for Suh. It says to me that these guys have given him short shrift all season long, have probably not paid attention to him until this weekend, and thus he really has no shot at this.

And why? Because the "experts" are too myopic to see the impact of the defense on the game. It's easy to see a RB take off down field, make a move or two, and gain 20 yards. Middle-School kids get why that's impactful. Same goes for a QB chucking the ball 30 yards down field into tight coverage, or a WR weaving through the secondary. These are easily quantifiable things - the low-hanging fruit of college football - and since most people don't grasp the niceties of defense, a guy has to be SO OVERWHELMINGLY DOMINANT on D that you can't possibly not notice him before he even gets a whiff of respect.

I'm tired of "experts" making my game into something it's not. I'm tired of "experts" not truly grasping the game as a whole. I'm tired of one side of the ball being ignored because it takes a little work to understand.

Bah.

 
Joe Schad, from ESPN, just said on ESPN he voted Suh first but thinks the guy from Alabama will win it in the closest vote in Heisman history.

Pathetic isn't it. I guess that's why so many games are rated as much watch TV when lots of points are expected to be scored.
