Any idea why my buddy would be banned..

Hey guys, kinda strange situation here -- my buddy, RuffH20 just told me that he hasnt been able to access the board from work since last Wed, when I added the IP bans. But the IP he used to registered with isnt on the list.. hhmmm. maybe the IP from work/Sprint IS on the list, and he signed up from home. Then that would mean that possibly one of these aceholes is from the KC area. Here is the list of IPs currently banned, can someone do their magic and find out where they originate?

69.15.194.82

208.24.179.29

68.15.224.52

63.227.144.1

68.13.117.79

24.27.146.221

70.114.156.52

12.158.156.130

Heres Ruff's IP 207.43.195.204

 
Heres the IP for "woodchuck" which couldve been him: 70.114.156.52 but from what I can tell thats in VA. unless Im doing it wrong.

That's really odd considering you have an exact list of IP's and his doesn't appear. It doesn't make sense that he wouldn't be able to see it.

Do you have any wildcard entries in that list?

What's that Sprint one? Chad, didn't you say he was Sprint. For the mods that don't know, I'm work at Sprint and have no problem accessing at work.

Probably because tieing an IP to a location isn't a real exact science. AFAIK, location information based soley on IP isn't part of the infrastructure and at this point it's kind of a manual effort to maintain locations.

 
No never figured it out. REally weird. I didnt use any IP wildcards, only email domain wildcards. yet for some reason he was getting the same msg the trolls were getting "you do not have access to view this..." Hm. I guess he must be one of them then. Oh well guess were f'd.

Don't worry about me, I don't understand 70% of what you guys are talking about. I thought IP was short hand for IHOP :blink:

My wife is an IT Mgr at Westlake Hdwr and she said she could log into another forum if we needed an "outsider" to take a poke around.
