Dear Tyler (Gabbert),
Thank you for considering playing for Nebraska. I hope you will find it in your heart to forgive my post yesterday which speculated on your possible decommitment to the Huskers. You are a bright young man, and a gifted athlete. Whatever you decide, do in the best interest of YOUR future! If you decide to follow your brother to mizzery, so be it.
While my thoughts were misconstrued by other posters, I remain solid in my stance that I hope you choose Nebraska, for whatever reason. You will be a valuable player, and while you will have to earn your starting job I hope you will find value in that the Nebraska way will reinforce the work ethic that brought thus far. Lastly, while you have stiff competition at the QB position it's not to say you won't become the starter. Surrounding yourself with other high caliber QBs will make you a better position player while learing from the best offensive coordinator in the NCAA, the best defensive minded coaches and of course the legend himself, Tom Osborne. Does it get any better than that??
You know about the traditions at Nebraska and you will get to experience them first hand on October 17th, I will be looking for you from the stands among 85,000 others eager to catch a glimpse of you.
Lastly, do not let anything the fans do or say to sway your decision. You know what you can do, you know what can happen if you come and you know that you will be a better person/player from being around the classiness for which Nebraska is nationally known. Go explore your options, make the best decision for you and remember... the Big Red would be thrilled to have you as one of their own
GO BIG RED!
Sincerely,
jj~
