If they had started with everyone else there would be plenty of weeks for makeup games.

And the scenario that OSU could have problems playing enough games didn't cross their mind when our week 2  game was cancelled? Should have when the schedule was put together, but at least when games were cancelled right off the bat. I don't mind trying to get OSU more games, what bothers me is we gave them an opportunity to avoid it in week 2 and they ignored it. And now they're stuck backpedaling on idiotic decisions way too late.

Yeah, seems pretty short-sighted know what kind of external factors would be in play.

I would guess they would say they did "think about it" and that's why they made allowance to play other B1G teams but without bye weeks in the schedule that's pretty hard to make work without significant switches like this.
