Banned user back under a different name?

blasted_imposter joined yesterday and has the same IP as PLAN NINE, a gentleman who was banned last August for racial epithets.

So far blasted_imposter seems to want to talk football. If it's the same guy, should we give him some time to see how he behaves, or do we want to be proactive?

 
Same registration IP, but each user had a second IP associated with their accounts. For blasted_imposter, it's 68.13.114.43. For PLAN NINE, it's 72.206.107.123. The first resolves to Bellevue, while the second resolves to Omaha (not really a difference, of course). The emails are completely different, but both are disposable - one is Yahoo! and the other is gmail.

I'm inclined to wait and watch. Particuarly, let's see if the 72.206.107.123 IP appears with blasted_imposter. One shared IP can be a coincidence - two is conclusive as far as I'm concerned.

 
After reading several more of blasted's posts, it's almost assuredly a different guy. That or it's the same guy on meds.

 
This is definitely the same guy. Same posting style, and likes to use the "Summary: ..." thing at the end of his posts.

Any more identifying info, Frank? Or is he still not connectable to PLAN NINE?

 
Hm - odd, I thought earlier you said they were almost assuredly different. With a small sample of posts to look at, what apart from the summary changed your mind?

The shared IP 216.243.212.98...here's the lookup. I am wondering if it could be a school or something.

 
You can read my post up there just like everyone else. I said then it was a different posting style, or they were on meds. Now it appears he's going back to his old ways. The "summary:" is just another clue.

Nothing else. They each share that single IP address, but they each also post(ed) under a second IP, and those are different, as are the emails. "Blasted's" second IP shows that it was used at about 1:30 AM, while the "shared" IP looks to be used during regular hours - it was last used by "Blasted" at 3:34 PM or so. So that ties into zoogie's idea of the shared IP being a school.
