Board buckling under load

We have 1166 members online and counting, and I haven't seen this in a while, but the board appears to be buckling a little under the load.

It seems like it's possible to turn the board offline (with a message for visiting guests) while still allowing registered members to use it. If it gets bad, should we try this during peak hours?

 
I'd say yes, it's too hard to get on and do anything and it's done that over the past few weeks a few times to be honest. It would force people to register to see some of this stuff.

 
Both result in the same thing - folks can't get on. I'd say don't worry about it or trying to keep order. This is going to be a meltdown of epic proportions.
