Born N Bled Red + sock puppet accusations

I gave @Born N Bled Red a warning yesterday for accusing other members of being sock puppets in the main forums. He either didn't see it or ignored it, because he continued down the path today, so I gave him a one week suspension. That's his third warning since August so I think his account deserves higher levels of scrutiny when he returns.

Also, I'm hoping to send a clear message about this kind of sock puppet stuff because it's gotten pretty out of hand. @knapplc of course got a warning about it recently and several other members have enjoyed making these accusations in recent history, too. I guess if it happens in the Shed then I'm a little more ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ about it, but doing it in the main forums over and over again is just trolling IMO.

Pending this potential notification alert issue referenced in another thread here, I may revoke Born's second warning and just leave him with the one. I don't think it's fair to have suspended him if he did not receive an email or notification about the first warning condemning his behavior.

Yeah. I think abuse of the reporting tool could be worth a warning if it continues.  :dunno

Irritating as hell that there's no context with them, either. But that always bothers me any time somebody reports it without saying why.

Born PM'd me and said he never received notifications for the first warning, hence the reason he continued with the bad behavior that led to a suspension. Out of fairness, I have removed one of those warnings from his account.

For posterity, I think Born is on his last leg for the foreseeable future. I gave him a 30-day suspension today. Recently, he has called Archy "nuts" in one post, asked him if he was "daft" in another, and has accused Archy of trolling in a few other posts. All of this has happened in P&R and this is his third warning since the New Year.

FWIW, I do think Archy is a P&R troll much in the same way some of our other members are (i.e. knapplc). Based on his behavior, everything he says is right, he routinely disregards information presented to him if it doesn't fit his narrative, and his primary argument tool is 'whataboutisms' aimed at people that try to make any sort of salient point.

These things aren't really any better or worse than a few other P&R regulars here, but I'm unsurprised to see how Archy's posting style wears on people fast. I've been telling people to just put him on ignore and practice some self-control but, sometimes, that feels like talking to a wall.
