Broadband AND Dialup users

This board has a lot of users that seem to use large content in nonmedia topics. I was wondering if posting a sticky is necessary to keep people from doing this as it might keep dialup users from using the board easily.

I don't know the stats for connection types used by the board. So, this is only a suggestion. Since, most of Nebraska is rural I thought their might be a lot of dialups that avoid the board because of download times.

Thanks for the suggestion BRW. If I understand you correctly, are you suggesting that we attempt to dissuade people from posting large files, like videos etc?

I use dial up and the site works fine for me. I am getting high speed soon though, so I can't wait. Good idea though!

I can't imagine going back to Dial-up. I find my self frustrated that the Cable Modem won't go faster than it is. Speed Speed Speed.

Just a note - at the bottom of pages is a link entitled "Lo-Fi Version" thanks to the new board. When you click it, you get a version of the board without most - perhaps none - of the images. That should help anyone coming in on a dial-up connection if they don't want to wait for the graphics to download.
