Give them a warning; in that menu you can assign a punishment to go with the warning as well, which can include moving the member to the "Banned" group.

Just to flesh out what zoogs said a bit:

1. Under each member is the number of warning points they have (0 - whatever). Click that.

2. A page will appear with a black button at the far right entitled "Warn Member". Click that.

3. A new page will appear. On the new page, select the reason for the warning from the drop-down box - spamming, trolling, etc.

4. When you select a reason, a field appears that allows you to set the number of points. That doesn't really matter - if you want them banned, I recommend you put 5 in there, but otherwise just leave it at the default 1.

5. Below that, type in the message to send the person being warned. If they aren't being banned, they will get a PM. If they are being banned, you'll need to get their email and send them an email with the info.

6. Below that, type whatever you want to describe the event - this is what we can see. It's helpful to include a link to the actual post that caused the warning as well.

7. Below that, click the Change button. This is what allows you to select what punishment is imposed. To ban, go to the Suspend section, place a check in both boxes. Beside the second box, (the option to Move), make sure that Banned is selected.

8. Finally, at the very bottom of the page, click the Warn Member button.

You're done!

Great, thanks! I was toying around with the warning system and thought that might've been the case, but wanted to clarify.

Thanks, it's been so long since I did it I became exceptionally clueless on the procedure. I'm talking about the warning system people.

When knapp and those mods came on duty they were always on the board and I'd see things long after they took action. And this newer set of mods are fast too.
