Cough, cough

Ok, first off for the performance on offense, meh. Defense was lights outs tonight and for probably the first time this season swarmed to the ball for the entire 60 minutes.

Alright, forgive me this post is probably at about 90proof, but for all those who hate the idea of Cody playing QB because he "fumbles too much" tonight should be the last night those words can be used as an excuse.

Now in no way is this post trying to fire up a QB debate by any means, but Taylor is putting the ball on the turf an ungodly amount. I am a huge TM fan, but it is getting to the point where I am pulling what little hair I have left on my head out. Tonight he wasn't even hit hard, or even on the ball and out it came. Don't anyone give me an excuse that he may have been overcompesating for the bad wheel, cause if that is the reason the guy shouldn't have been out there.

Crouch had a lot of fumbles, but the majority of those came from when he was pitching the ball off. Over and over again Tmart is coughing it up, and a lot of times it is from light contact. This is something I hope he starts to shore up real quickly because NU plays a very opportunistic team Saturday and there is no way a Big XII championship will be won against Boomer or Pokie if the turnover margin is not in NU's favor. 32 fumbles is a joke.

A win is win and again this week we'll take it. TMart rest that bum wheel up cause NU will need it next week. And for the love of all that is powerful, hold on to the DAMN ROCK.

For starters, Green apparently received a concussion against Iowa State, so was unavailable today. Seems fishy, considering he finished out the game last week, unless it was the most minor of concussions a human could possibly receive.

The biggest reason Taylor is on the field over Cody is because the offense is generally just plain better with Taylor out on the field. Taylor ran better on his bum ankle than Green has run in a single game all season. Sure, Taylor had a pretty bad interception today AND coughed the ball up, but Green has shown he does the exact same things. Both of these guys will make mistakes, so it really comes down to which guys will give your offense the best chance to succeed while making those mistakes.

Nothing fishy about it, I posted about it earlier in the week in the Zac Lee rumor thread, he passed the tests on the sidelines.

If Cody got the reps and they took the chains off of him, he'd do very well at QB. But the staff has screwed with him to a point where he has little confidence in himself at this point. It's like trying to push a snowball uphill, it keeps getting heavier and heavier no matter what you do.

How many times do quarterbacks pass sideline concussion checks but then get held out the next week because of said concussion? That's the issue I'm curious about, because that's what was reported in the injury thread. Doesn't seem to happen very often, not to say it's impossible though. I just find it very odd that CG wouldn't be cleared by the next Saturday to at least play a back-up role.

Safety is the number one important thing, naturally. Still, I find it a little odd myself. If they didn't think he was fully back then I guess he isn't fully back.

I don't think that part of his post in any way mentioned that Green was a better QB than Martinez and would be better than Martinez. He was just pointing out that people should keep quiet about Green's fumbling problems when Martinez is doing the same exact thing.

And I totally believe that Green had a concussion and while he could play and pass the tests during the game because of adrenaline and such. He could be suffering from post concussion symptoms, was the reason Dennard was withheld from the ISU game.

but then he mentions the 32 T E A M fumbles. you realize most of those come from the backs and receivers, right?
I don't think so. TMart has to lead this team in fumbles by a good margin. If somehow dropped passes counted as fumbles maybe not. I think he is putting the ball on the floor more than once/ game.

But he is by far the better QB.
