Big Red Report:

Assessing the talent: ESPN evaluation says "Samuels is a fine looking athlete with good physical skills as a defensive back prospect for a college program to mold. He is tall, athletically-built but still very lean and has much physical developing to do. Played corner in most of the game films we viewed but his hips, turns and overall fluidity are more suited at safety. Covers a lot of ground with his long stride and good acceleration; displays good range on both run and pass support." More here: http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/...26season%3d2009

Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 15%. Let's see if he visits as we would differentiate from a lot of the Pac 10 schools recruiting him.

we need to stop saying o darn we are going up against oregon or california or south carlina....we have to get in ther and get the job done, we cant just settle on 2* or 3* from Nebraska or Iowa, or one 5* and the rest 3*, we need to get 4* and 5* from California or Texas to become succesful...thats how u become a powerhouse like USC, Texas, etc

Well it's one thing to say we need to stop saying this, but it's quite another to not have to worry about it. We have to get things done on the field and until that happens this mentality will continue unfortunately. I wish we didn't have to worry about it.............

One settles for what they can get. That is what settling means. NU is where it is in terms of settling on players the big boys pass up. that will be the case until NU wins a few big games. That means Bo will have to get the team to over-achieve with the talent he has (and is getting) before he can really compete, wholesale, with the top 20 or so programs for the top recruits.

Or we need to move the whole state closer to a huge recruiting base. USC and Texas, the 2 teams you named, barely have to recruit. Yes, some of it has to do with their success, but look at how much of their classes are in-state and early commits.
