Duh.  If students will be the downfall, WHY ARE WE EVENING HAVING STUDENTS ON CAMPUS.  Allowing protests, rallies, stores to be open, people to work etc..........
Good question.   I don’t disagree and I’m not looking for a debate, but it probably comes down to where the culpability would lie according to the university lawyers.   Students on campus while in class and dorms, etc. theoretically can be expected to follow “mandatory “ guidelines regarding masks and distancing.   Even though we all know how that will go with college students.   Some will, but many eventually won’t.   But if the guidelines were reasonable and in lockstep with local or state guidelines/regulations then doesn’t the university free itself from culpability should an outbreak or bad outcome happen?  More of a rhetorical question, but I would imagine the U lawyers see it that way.   For the participants of contact sports, those guidelines are not in any way reasonable or possible.   The unfortunate reality of the situation.

I somewhat understand that B10 claiming we'll play in the Spring is enough to not let us play in the fall, and I hope we can get out of that still, but I don't understand why we can't play our nonconference in the Fall or especially have a "red vs white spring game".  Something like that would do wonders for the local restaurants, bars, gas stations, etc

I didn't really think about this but just thinking of the stuff that kids do in the dorms that they are not supposed to...vape, smoke, pot, drugs, booze, and so on...sneak girls in...sneak guys in...sneak they/them in...but now an RA is supposed to go around and check to see if they have masks on and aren't gathering with other people.

No worries.  I like to view/hear other opinions.

I have not read any other plans, but the Big XII.  They are talking about testing contact sports (football, men's/women's VB and soccer) participants 3xweek.  Pos tests will require 2 neg tests, MRI/EKG of heart and 2 (IIRC) blood tests before they can return.  As well as contact tracing....Unsure how expensive, feasible this is....Maybe for the Power 5 schools, but unsure if G5 schools have that cash flow.

I just want football.  I think they can keep kids "safer" than regular college students....To the bolded, people can and do sue for anything.  ie I got Covid because I was required to have this in person lab....If not for that class, I could have done virtual learning....

I just think nationwide, once school starts back, flu season kicks in etc we are back in lock down mode...

My daughter can only have her roomie in her dorm room.  Not even people from the same floor or dorm.  Have to fill out a daily Covid questionnaire, temp check some classes etc....Masks on campus and in classrooms....And she's been out all week with friends....And I'm sure no masks or social distancing......

Oh yeah, that daily covid check!  We do that too.

One good thing happened the past week.  The brought Dr. Scott Atlas on the Covid team.  He at least has a working brain.

This is going to be with us for a very long time.  Half the people that are supposed to know the answers truly have no clue, that be you Dr. F.

Now the temperature test is no longer valid.  When will they get something right and make a difference.

As to equipment getting dusty, I didn't think you went out of the house from all of your posts.  Life goes on.  Or it doesn't.

These kids are not worried about this disease.  Hell they play football.  Death, paralysis is around the corner at any instant, let me in I want to play.

Wear a mask, if it isn't paper it is useless basically.  But the dims new leader says we all need to wear them everywhere for ever.

As to testing.  If you test positive, you have to take a test until you have two negative tests.  Some people have to test 10 to 15 times to get the negative duo.  Each one is counted as a separate test, meaning 15 more numbers of positive.  If this happens regularly as it did in Riverside County, how correct are the test numbers.

Local hospital, numbers have dropped consistently and those that are in ICU have dropped even greater.  But the nurses are truly running on empty.  We need to stop this madness

We never heard a word about Covid during the riots, I am thinking we will hear very little about it after the election.  And numbers of those dying because of all this craziness are rising dramatically.  Personal friend died of a heart attack because his Dr. would not see him and he was afraid to go to the hospital.

1 out of 4 18-24 year olds consider suicide now.  That would be the age of the kids they are telling they can't do what they live for.  Beyond belief.

Have they shut down the Army, Navy, Marines or Coast Guard.  Lets hope not.

This crap is beyond stupid.
