This was in Chris Dunker's article about the Regent proposing a columbarium at Memorial Stadium.

I will be interested to see what else will be done now that we hired the deputy AD from Tulane, who is highly regarded when it comes to capital projects. 

 
Natural grass sod is softer, cooler, nice odor, less injuries, no more toxic chemicals like recycle tires, etc., etc., etc

Grass is an exciting thing to look forward to, glad to know we're not standing still.

I'm assuming and hoping that this will coincide with a re-imagined stadium renovation plan. I'm nervous that the south stadium demo will not be happening at all or any time soon (even though it's very needed imo) but I think there'll still be a big project planned.

 
I've never understood the.  "we can't do grass because of the weather, and you can't host concerts"  

List of northern NFL stadiums with Grass.  They all seem to do just fine.  Some better than others, but that is what makes football fun.  Mud, dirt, and grass stains.

Part of it, I think, is that those stadiums don't have anywhere near the amount of usage that ours does. Huge one off concerts are one thing, and a rare thing, but you've got to deal with practice, marching band, HS state football, etc. on a frequent basis.

I would bet Arrowhead gets every bit of usage that Memorial Stadium gets.  
 

It’s quite silly for a program with as much money as these P4 programs have, to not utilize natural grass.  

 
I can see it now.

A small corner of the edge of the field will be designated for growing three short rows of corn.

It will be Dylan Raioloa's trademark celebration move to grab an ear off a stalk and husk it to the crowd's cheering roar.

Then we will secure a $2.6B loan to build a state of the art facility that researches how we can get a competitive edge against our opponents with special, proprietary shoes that optimize performance on our grass field.

I'm OK with a grass surface.  

Even if it means our DBs, WRs and RBs run a 5.2 now in the 40.  (Real Speed)

There's something so calming whenever we played at Northwestern.  As if both teams run the same speed, and without a burst.   

It's exactly what Nebraska should do next.

Please don't be so grumpy about my grass surface comment.  OU has grass and they run like 4.8 in the 40, so it's all good.  :)

 
Does anybody know? Has Nebraska reduced the huge crown we used to have on the field. I was always told it was crowned extra for the option game, so they’d be going downhill east-west. I swear, at field level, the center looked 4’ to 5’ higher than the sidelines. Just curious if that has changed since we gave up long ago on that style of option game.

Yeah, that went away in Callahan era I believe and has been pretty normal since.
