Flying below the radar....

I think the media is all caught up in this playoff system and it shows. Just salivating over who's gonna get in, or who isn't. comical to watch.

Interesting observation this weekend. When talking about the BIG all that was mentioned was Sparty, OSU and Wisconsin. I get it....we have laid some eggs lately. But, our first non-conference game showed a lot. A friend of mine (iowa fan) text me and said, "Now that's how Nebraska used to treat non-conference opponents". We have all wondered when we would get over the hump. To come out this hot and early is very promising.

I sat through the buckeyes squeaking by Navy. I saw Wisconsin get beat. Sparty has their hands full. I'm not drinking kook-aid just yet. But from what I saw, I know we have enough to win the BIG!

Injuries will be the theme this season throughout the BIG. Who stays the healthiest will when the conference. And we will quietly fly below the radar.

I agree...but I think we all need to temper that optimism a bit. It was FAU, after all, and not FSU.

Now, if we can go 6-0 after traveling to East Lansing...then we need to start breaking out the Kool-Aid and talking optimistically...until then, it's a tad premature IMO.

Agreed. And it was only one game.
I wouldn't start booking rooms in Indy just yet, we may not be as good as we looked, and some of our conference foes may not be as bad as they looked.

Or-------------we may be even better than we looked and the conference foes may be worse than they looked!!!!?????

Didn't Ohio State play some slack team kinda close in the opener last year, and everyone ran a victory lap around how awful they were going to be? I seem to remember that being a thing. I think everyone might be overreacting to that one.

They also had a few other close games as well. They coulda very well lost to Northwestern, Wisconsin, Iowa and Michigan. Not to mention they DID have Braxton Miller. And with out Carlos Hyde, 4 starters on the oline from last year, and their top two defensive players, it's no stretch to say Braxton was worth a good 4 td's a game this year.

Games what woulda been walkthroughs this year may now be struggles, and the struggles may very well be losses.

That's kind of what I was thinking though, they've played a lot of close games since Urban has been there, and he usually finds a way to win them. Kind of surprised people were surprised about Navy giving them a game since that was the general narrative leading up to the game. (Navy's difficult to plan for, breaking in a new QB, ect).

I think they still win a bunch of games, but Michigan State takes the division. VA Tech could very well beat them this week if they don't play any better.
