Four Huskers leave team before spring practice

Don't know if everyone knew, as I knew of at least 2 of them. IF this is something everyone else already knew then I apologize.

Nebraska coach Bo Pelini confirmed Tuesday that four players have left the team's roster since the end of last season.

The most notable departure is defensive back John Levorson, a heralded recruit who redshirted last season.

Other players who have left the program include defensive back Justin Rogers, safety Major Culbert and linebacker Austin Stafford.

And Pelini confirmed that senior defensive end Nick Covey is on a medical redshirt.

I wouldn't be suprised if this isn't the last of the defections etc. Most new coaching staffs need a couple years to clean house, especailly if the previous tenant was a packrat.

Does that mean Covey is a redshirt Junior now after receiving a medical hardship? He was pretty highly regarded as a recruit and seems to have been snake bitten since arriving. It'd be nice if he can step up his game and make an impact given the extra time.
