FTP and Paths

Joe, couple of questions. When I try and FTP into the /mods subdirectory, I'm getting a message that the password is denied. Does permissions need to be set on that folder? And is the path unchanged?
Since we're on a new server there's different username and password. They didn't move the mods folder so if there's anything in there you need you can still access the old server using the ip address for the host: 69.41.162.121.

New server:

Host: 72.249.170.139

User: mods@huskerboard.com

Pass: Huskerboard1

Thanks. I'm going to re-create the Mods folder...at least part of it. We have the old schedules there, as well as images and some other material.

OK, I can't find the old thread where we were discussing FTP permissions at a glance, but I learned something just now that may be applicable to our FTP issues:

Windows servers don't take chmod commands. That's the standard FTP command used to change permissions on files and folders, but it only works on Linux servers.

I am guessing the new server runs on Windows.

So, to change permissions, we'd actually need to go through the control panel from the host company, I think. Something for whoever has access to that to do...

See my last post in THIS THREAD. I think that's what you're looking for.

We may be on a Windows server; I don't know. But I know the old server was Linux, and I presumed that to ease the migration we went Linux again.

Hi guys,

is the username for our FTP account still mods? I have tried to log into it today, using mods, and neither Huskerboard! or Huskerboard1 worked for passwords.. :(

The mod's account is no longer. We've moved to named accounts. If you need an account to edit the board as part of your role, ask an Admin.
