Well, I'm finally back on-line. Tuesday, around 10:00 p.m., the ice hit, folllowed by 9" of snow. Power lines down everywhere, and one near me must have taken a hit, as it went black around then. Got power restored today between 2:15 and 4:00 p.m. Beautiful, and if we'd had power, it would have been wonderful. So, as soon as things clear up, the wife and I are going to have a pernament generator installed that runs on natural gas. While the snow is rare here, ice storms are unfortunately not (or not as much), and spring/summer/fall thunderstorms and tornados are all too common.
