Given how big of a crapshoot the MLB draft is (or any draft, for that matter), nobody can really fault Monte for taking the guaranteed money when drafted that high and giving it a shot. He's a great prospect, but that's all he is... a prospect. Most of those don't ever sniff the big leagues. Who knows if he'll work out. Looks like he's had a good start. He's an uber-toolsy guy with whom I assume the Brewers fell in love with... his potential anyway.
On the other hand, Starling was an uber-toolsy guy that the Royals loved-- top 5 loved-- and he's really struggling right now. So hit and miss.
Anyway, glad to see he's doing well.
