Had an idea on potential for making the board some more $$.
Be honest here. Do you think members would be interested if we created a type of "huskerboard marketplace", with local service providers...
Could work like this.
I'd reach out to area providers in the general trades such as HVAC, plumbing, landscape, mechanics etc.
I'd request a discount for our members, when they mention they heard about them from HB.
Each time the discount code "huskerboard" was used, we'd get a commission.
Could create a master list linked from the menu, and encourage members to use it when they needed work done.
It would probably take a lot of reminding to build up awareness, but could eventually work.
Would also require some auditing to make sure the businesses followed through with commissions. We could ask our members to post when they used a provider, and give them a free shirt for using the marketplace.
