Bo Pelini needs to be fired!

Tim Beck needs to be fired!

John Papuchis needs to be fired!

Ron Brown needs to be fired!

Barney Cotton needs to be fired!

Ross Els needs to be fired!

Rich Fisher needs to be fired!

John Garrison needs to be fired!

Rick Kaczenski needs to be fired!

Terry Joseph needs to be fired!

and most of all TAYLOR MARTINEZ NEEDS TO Go!!!

Just kidding, I just wanted to sound like everyone else who results in head hunting when we lose.

On a real topic, after seeing how our players are playing, is it only me, but does the offense seem to be the only ones who are playing with PASSION?

I mean looking back, when Gomez, Suh, Crick, Dennard, Amakamura, and other star athletes, didn't they play with passion? Seems like we are lacking the passion for the game and the brotherhood.

True. The most passion I saw from our team this season so far might have been during the Arky State game after Bo left. Papuchis made us proud at that moment to be Husker fans, and he led his defense to play some inspired ball. We need more of that.

Yeah, Papuchis did a great job coaching. I like the emphasis he provides, and it seems like he is still doing it on the side lines. Papuchis just doesn't have the talent on the D to keep them motivated, which kills the passion. The true talent we have is injured or red shirted. Not saying none are, but our key Dlinemen who were suppose to be rotated are, which doesn't bring in the variety we need.

Hopefully with a sparky kid like Josh Bandares, our defense will have that passion next year.

What's probably more annoying than the people jumping up and down, demanding changes in the staff after an embarrassing loss are threads like these that attempt to completely discount and make light of the fact that we have some serious issues. I'm not necessarily saying that we need a fire sale on coaches, but eventually, something is going to have to give. We are the exact same undisciplined football team that we have been for the last 4 years, with a MUCH worse defense.

I think the only reason we played that well against Arky State is because they were Arky State.................insert any other B1G team in there and we would've had a tougher time winning that game.

 Yes, hopefully with an incoming freshman who has yet to play a down of Cornhusker football, let alone even sign his LOI, will get the revamping of heart and passion that this defense needs.

Threads like these? The whole beginning of my thread was a joke, and implying that people are over reacting, demanding that players need to bench benched or coaches need to be fired. What does firing Cotton going to do to benefit us? He is a hell of a recruiter, and would hurt us more than help us. Bo, sure we can get rid of him, but get who to fill in? Then we are back to square one, having a coach we can't trust and if he doesn't have a winning season, then what? Fire him? If we got rid of Bo, we would saying the same thing in a few years, like we do about Solich "Why did we do that?". Its because of the fans and media, on why we lost him, and if people keep up with the same shenanigans, we will, with no doubt, kicking ourselves in the butt once again.

We need to get a player on that field who WANTS to be out there, who will be vocal and keep a fire lit under them. That is what Rex does for our offense, and we need someone to do the same on defense. Compton is doing an ok job, but he isn't inspirational enough and doesn't help keep that passion in the game. I keep saying the word passion, because that is what brings a team together. Our WR's, FB's and RB's click together well with Martinez, and the offensive line is good when our defense isn't struggling. Why, I am not sure, but we need to keep their spirits up during the game, win or lose.

I remember when teams HATED us coming to their field, because our team LOVED to hear the crowd shut up and remain quiet because of the blackshirt stomping! We need that same attitude back! Go out and hit, hit hard and make them realize we are the "BLACKSHIRTS".

So, what your saying, is its highly doubtful? There are kids who come to just play, and there are kids who dreamed of being a Husker since he was a kid, and won't take failure as an option. Two kids (one here and one commit) are just like this. Armstrong and Bandares. Bandares has helped a ton with our recruiting this year, as Armstrong did last year for us. Natter is a confirmed commit because of Bandares, because of his attitude and his will to be successful. Its already working for our future Huskers, why wouldn't it work for us when they step foot on the field?

Armstrong is a pure leader, and the coaches even stated this, on how he brings people together during practice. Again, heart.

Bo Pelini needs to be fired! Not yet, however elected warm seat

Tim Beck needs to be fired! NO

John Papuchis needs to be fired! YES

Ron Brown needs to be fired! NO

Barney Cotton needs to be fired! YES

Ross Els needs to be fired! YES

Rich Fisher needs to be fired! NO

John Garrison needs to be fired! YES

Rick Kaczenski needs to be fired! YES

and most of all TAYLOR MARTINEZ NEEDS TO Go!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

He is the worst decision maker I have ever seen.He just needs to throw the ball away sometimes! No matter how well you throw you can't fix decisions like that. Pressure him and you win because he will never throw the ball away and instead he will throw into triple coverage and get it picked off. Im just praying for Tommy to win out next year. I am willing to keep him if he can learn to not do so much sometimes the defense just wins.

Kind of agree with this. Why continue to start these threads to complain about the people that start the other types of threads...every week. Where's the fresh Huskerboard content? Pour our efforts into the look-a-like thread or at least give us more ponies...

Threads like these?
Yes, threads like these.

A bad joke.

What does firing Cotton going to do to benefit us? He is a hell of a recruiter, and would hurt us more than help us.
Yes, he has done just a hell of a job recruiting an impregnable offensive line. You saw what happened Saturday night. You could have timed how much time Taylor had to throw with a sun dial.

Bo, sure we can get rid of him, but get who to fill in? Then we are back to square one, having a coach we can't trust and if he doesn't have a winning season, then what? Fire him? Not that I necessarily want Bo to be fired, but what you are saying is pure speculation.

Agreed, for the most part.

Agreed, for the most part. Martinez is still the double edged sword that he has always been and is far from the elite quarterback that Nebraska needs.

Your quite the quotester lol

The biggest point of this thread, is to point out the lack of will and passion I see on the field. On both sides of the ball. Mostly on defense, where its most crucial LB & DL. I thought Fisher would come out with fire, but something is different with that kid, unlike last year. He said that he has "done everything" he has wanted to do academically, but has not done all he wanted to do in his football career. I wonder if he is afraid of a re-break or what, but he is better than he is showing. Compton isn't being utilized like he should, and I think its wearing down on him. He is a blitzing LB, and is almost a guarantee tackle. Our DB's are getting better, and is the least of my worries, unlike the beginning of this year.
