So, the other day I bought a NY strip at Walmart for $11.54 on sale. A nice big piece of red meat considering the place I got it at. Ready for grilling.
Now I am like most of yall because I rarely put anything on a grilled steak, cuz you don't need to. Get it to room temp, heavy salt and pepper and grill it 2 minutes on each side, then let it sit for 5 minutes while it cooks internal a bit. I like it medium rare and some pink inside.
Anyway, I did something to a steak that I have not done in 20 years ?? 25 years ??
I smothered it with Heinz 57 sauce right before I ate it.
Smothered it... Like you would smother gravy all over chicken fried chicken.
But in addition to that, I poured a ton of Blue Cheese dressing on my plate next to the steak. A lot.
And I know this sounds gross, or "Soooo 80's"..... but I have to tell you.... IT WAS SO TASTY AND DELICIOUS !!!!
