Now come on,

“Home field advantage, which has been HUGE in the Big 12. The Big Red Machine has always held this special advantage. Last few times KSt. has gotten smoked.”

If this is true and yes the last time we played in Lincoln we lost by ten, what do you call last years score of 49-13? You can’t call that smoked too can you?

“And when you and your dickwad fans come to the stadium keep your business to yourself.”

Are you saying I need to be worried about the fans in Lincoln like the MU and KU fans have rubbed off on you ladies. I have always started at Sidetracks at 8am before a game and have drank beer with all the pink shirt fans and have even sang the KState fight song in the bar with no problem are you trying to keep me quiet this year, because that won’t happen. Now I won’t be bringing a screw driver for tires but I am not going to worry about sitting in the corner either. Do you even know the words to your fight song? Every time I go into the bar all I hear is the song, “We don’t know the woorrrds, We don’t know the woords.”

“I’ve gotten it quite a bit down there. I’ve laid more pipe in that town than most plumbers. Man some ugly people down there.”

I thought you told me that story before and You were in Lawrence. I thought that when you showed up in the bar in Manhattan you and your old Iowa bud Coach Eustacia got drunk on Natty Light and picked up some crabs from Lawrence Phillips old ex, just cause you knew you could score because she already moved her way through the starting Offense and you could release some of that “we just lost frustration.”

And finally,

“NU has something special in Lincoln and this week will be no different.”

This makes me laugh, finally something that makes since.

Lincoln a drinking town with a football problem.

Ready to join the drinking town...KState Wildcat :D

Dear KState Wildcat,

1) You and your little purple canal pals are more than welcome to leave your loose change in Mecca. Dont blame you for the attraction to excellence.

2) You will be treated with absolute respect and yes maybe even bought a "RED" beer.

3) You will drink this red beer and like it. B/c you will need something to wash down your crow and from the sound of your preexisting relationship, maybe even one of Eric the red's "members".

4) I think eric said tend to your bizness and be on your way b/c he has had some bad encounters w/ kstate fans. Overall I have to agree that most power-less cat fans Ive run into myself have been arrogant beyond their years. This wont stop me however from carrying on the Husker class and tradition.

Are there jacka$$ Husker fans? Absolutely. But instead of throwing sh#t at cars and handling ourselves like neanderthals after a win or loss, the "majority" of us cheer the opposing team and congratulate the fans independent of the outcome. Until instances like this occur in womanhattan, your fans will continue to be construed as majority dickheads. If you cant handle that reality, do something about it. OR stop whining that you are unfairly labeled. those are your options.

And by the way, might want to touch up on some of these KState, b/c your song will be out of style like Old style by game's end...

Hail Varsity:

Hail to the team

The stadium rings as everyone sings,

The Scarlet and Cream.

Cheers for a victory, echo our loyalty;

So, on mighty men,

The eyes of the land, upon every hand,

Are looking at you.

Fight on for victory

Hail to the Men of Nebraska U.

Dear Old Nebraska U (No Place Like Nebraska):

There is no place like Nebraska

Dear old Nebraska U.

Where the girls are the fairest,

The boys are the squarest,

Of any old school that I knew.

There is no place like Nebraska,

Where they're all true blue.

We'll all stick together,

In all kinds of weather,

For Dear old Nebraska U!

March of the Cornhusker:

Rally huskers, glory waits for you,

Rally huskers, show what you can do

Fight! forever, Oh! you team,

For the scarlet and the cream,

Go! Gang Go!

Rally huskers, rally one and all.

Fight on, huskers, hear Nebraska call,

Listen to the battle cry,

Of Nebraska U. N. I.

Band Song:

Hear the trumpets Playin'

Hear the crowd a sayin'

NU Band is on parade!

Hear the trombones blowin'

Hear the drums a rollin'

NU Band is on Parade!

Sound Out! Sound Out!

Sound out loud and clear

Let the team all know the Band is here.

Sons of Old Nebraska

If someone should ask ya

We're the Scarlet and the Cream!

. . . Followed by Hail Varsity.

The Cornhusker (Come a Runnin' Boys):

Come a runnin' boys

Don't you hear that noise like the thunder in the sky

How it rolls along in a good old song

From the sons of Nebraski.

Now it's coming near with a rising cheer

That will seep all foes away,

So with all our vim

We are bound to win and we're going to win today.

For Nebraska and the scarlet

For Nebraska and the cream,

Tho' they go thru many' a battle,

Our colors still are seen.

So in contest and in vict'ry

We will wave them for the team,

And 'twill always stir a Cornhusker,

The old scarlet and the cream.

Any other questions Corso?

congrats! you can cut and paste the fight songs

and i already know everything about being in lincoln on gameday. I lived 42 miles away growing up. so i don't need a lesson. as for doing something about it, we already have. As KState fans beat the hell out of NU last year they casually left the stadium cheerfull and left the goal posts stand, realizing that it was just another win and not a big game.

Why waste time on meaningless K-State? So they got lucky a few times since '98 in beating the Huskers. It won't last. We still own them. They always choke when the national light is on them. Did you see the Fiesta Bowl debacle against the Big 10/11's second place team, Ohio State? Nice job, Big XII chumps. Embarrassing.

Nebraska Huskers - 1970, 71, 94, 95, 97 National Champions

(Numerous Big 8 and XII championships)

As KState fans beat the hell out of NU last year they casually left the stadium cheerfull and left the goal posts stand, realizing that it was just another win and not a big game.
But it is the basis for your argument every time this comes up. hrm. Something doesn't quite add up here.

I'm a little new to this, but here is my take...

While Eric the Red's post contains no shortage of venom for the purple, it is probably rooted in the fact that he has had some pretty negative experiences in Manhattan. Same here. I'll do Wildcat fan the courtesy of sparing him of any history lesson about Lincoln (or anything else for that matter, as he is obviously a genius and knows pretty much everything) but here's what grated me on how I was treated in Manhattan.

It is always annoying to any established power when an upstart program doesn't know how to handle success. You people just don't know how to act. Winning over a period of years will bring that (assuming that you can sustain the "over the years" part of the equation). Bill Snyder is probably the best college coach ever. I am still amazed by what he has done there. But winning since 1991 just isn't the same as winning since 1962 and bringing home 5 titles in that span. Right now, you're better, and recent history is on your side. Great job. If you want respect, stop acting like an a-hole and realize that you're about 30 years behind the curve. Oh, and if you didn't notice, you are 1-2 years from starting another massive losing streak to the Big Red (I know how much the history bores you, but I hope you don't have a similar monopoly on the future.)

I'll buy you a beer after the game, regardless of outcome. You deserve that much respect.

c-husker

too god damned right to be questioned
