Not a bad performance. Not a great one either. Man, it sure helps to have great defense in case the O decides to piss away a few drives. There were quite a few drives where NU crapped out big time. Lord got sacked five times, but he looked a little more comfortable in the pocket. He actually sat in the pocket and delivered some nice short passes and also missed a big play because of a penalty. Some beautiful deep routes. Don’t think for a minute that that will be the end of the 9 and 10 man fronts. Especially like a Troy ST. team. They got nothing to lose and will likely have to do that to stay in the game. Remember long ball becomes harder to throw in the cold and wind. Lincoln could have plenty of that as early as mid October. h34r:

Dailey is obviously not ready. Yeah I know it was five plays, but he played…..well…like a freshman. Just like I told you earlier. Jammal’s the man whether you like it or not. Just plan to stand by his side and make it work. Booing ain’t going to help none. Good Luck Jammal.

You know the team that lost to MAC contender Marshall AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!! Well to make a long story short I asked him about the game and reminded him who told me they (KST.) had a ridiculously easy schedule and would apparently be undefeated going into the BIG 12 Championship undefeated. Right on. Always believe in Lord, but still say our Dailey prayers.. for the future.

Our special teams are looking very vulnerable. That is the one soft spot I see at this time. If Lord can continue to hit those two 35-50 yd passes every game, that will soften the defense and spread the field, which will of course open up our smashmouth attack - which allows us to manipulate the flow of the game, keeps the other defense on the field, and resulted in a record number of W's in the 90's.

I think Solich is recognizing that, and I think an O Coordinator is allowing that to happen. Solich is not the mastermind that Ozzy was, so the add'l brain capacity was much needed, and we are already reaping the benefits.

Oh yeah, and the KSU wildchokers suck balls.

KState fans need to pull their heads out of their asses for one second and check the dictionary for the real meaning of tradition. 5 or 6 years of winning seasons does not equate to tradition. Unless of course beating some schools for the deaf and blind and then getting rolled at home by a MAC team is the tradition they are looking for. A quick lookup of the word competition would also be warranted since their schedule each year reflects a lack of it. Tex-a$$ isn't the contender it should be this season with the parade of 3 and 4 star players recruited every year but they will pound KState on television this week. I hate TU as much as Eric hates KState and it pains me to say they will beat anyone, but the purple pussies better watch out because there will be a rape in Austin this Saturday. Eric's "friend" from Kansas needs a reality check noting the score of the last game played in Lincoln since his KState memory (in true barney fashion) only goes back one season.

Everytime I have to hear one of these fans speak, I can't understand it. I honestly don't care if we lose every game as long as we beat them. Or according to newsletter "the Barnies" ( I assume this is because their purple and the playful little childrens cartoon character is purple...interesting, unique) <_<

 

One thing you could always mention to a Mildcat fan is when they get on yyour case simple ask them "What have you won????" The answer will always be nothing!!!!!

 

They got smoked both times in the BIg 12 Champ game.

 

Huskers can rely on their defense this year. Why not Ohio St. did last year.

Penn State - Good in the 80’s wow! I guess I couldn’t say that about KSU. record2-3

Troy State - 3-2 Loss to KState...future 3-3 but with your score predictions given could be a game!

There are dickheads everywhere, yes in Lincoln too. Warrented no. Tradition no. Threats to me not warrented. I was asked to bring it so I do. I will be in Lincoln for the Game in November wearing purple and if there are dickheads wearing purple I will tell them they are dickheads. But I will also sing the KSU fightsong at Sidetracks at 9am like I have the last 3 times KSU was up there and be called a dumbass by the Husker faithful. However tradition at Nebraska shows threw and they will then fill my empty beer.

There is no way in hell you can possible compare the two schedules. NU hasn't played a CU type schedule but come on. IAA teams are not tough and never will be. They can't, they are only allowed a dozen or so scholorships. Utah St would dominate these teams. Penn St would crush these teams. Come on...are you f'ing kindin me. UMASS??????????? You are pushin this too far, it's like your tryin to tell me it's a apple when its obviously an orange. I don't know why your trying to justify this schedule.

You mentioned in the past that Nebraska would have dominated this game 70-3 and yes I agree. But in the past there were different limits on scholorships. There were over a hundred given out. A team like Trot St never would have made the jump to D-1 10 -15 years ago. They would never make it. Now with 85 scholorships its tougher competition. But in D-1AA their scholorships are still very low. In the past Nebraska would hand out scholorships to anyone. Heck they would give one someone they new would never play, a career second stringer, but they would give him one just to keep him from going to another Big 8 school, like Kansas or OSU something like that. I like it better now. Upsets every week.

As for my prediction 35-17. Hey I'm realistic, Troy St will get a quick score off an offensive turn over, also get 10 when the subs are in. Offense will be off and on. NU is going to run the ball and hold it for long periods of time. Therefore they score 35.

Good points have been made on both sides of the Sker, Cat debate. However, in the end, I believe the most telling fact is this: K-State continues to measure its success in reference to how they do against Nebraska. In fact, as far as I can tell from what's been posted, The Wildcats DEFINE themselves in terms of Nebraska. That pretty much says it all. I mean, I like Mountain Drops from Wal-Mart as much as the next guy, but we all know it's trying to be Mountain Dew. It's a lot like Mountain Dew, the can looks similar, and in the absence of Mountain Dew, Mountain Drops will certainly do. But, come on. Nobody is seriously suggesting that Mountain Drops is better than Mountain Dew. It's good, I'll give you that. But the copy will never be better than the original. Sorry, Cats.

Anyway, Skers roll this week. Troy St. on let-down alert. Husks play good D and run the ball inside. As far as K-St. Texas, that's anyone's ball game the way I see it. Marshall beat K-St. because Ill Roberson was out. That fu&*#r can get it done, and if he'd been in there it's a different ball game. At the risk of sounding mutinous, K-St. has a shot this week. But I can't say the same for T-St.

I agree with you couch dog. I think both sides have presented some interesting and at the very least "entertaining" arguments.

Even have to lend some respect to Wildcat fan for backing up most of his points with a good variety of personal anecdotes and articles.

And I do appreciate the fact that he does actually seem to get the meaning of tradition, and the fact that the Wildchunkers dont have it yet. But that is of course only b/c he is originally from the Great State, and even he will probably admit that most of his purple brethren have a pretty distorted sense of reality when it comes to the "big picture" in CF history, and it's significance.
