In one of the weirdiest twists this board has ever taken, HSKRNOKC will not be a mod anymore. He PM'd me two nights ago, basically citing "conflict of interests" between the direction of the board and what we were doing and doesn't want to be a part of it. I was unable to respond to him right away because like most of us we have adult lives and adult obligations and he went on to post a sarcatic remark in the recent status update in the upper right hand corner. I feel I can't trust him now and suspended him for 7 days until I can figure out what to do.

Folks, like you reading this thread, can't believe this is happening. Mike was on the board so much and was a huge part to the family. How it could go from what it was to this - I'm clueless. FYI: it has little to do about the recent thread I started about customer service, it seems to be a culminating bunch of things over the past year or two. I will be as transparent as possible and fill you in as the days go on. For now, there is no need to talk to any member on the board about this until I can figure out what we are going to do. He PMed me a week or so ago about stepping down, essentially citing "creative differences." I tried to talk him out of it, and since he was involved with the customer service conversation in this forum I thought he had reconsidered. I noticed he was no longer a Mod as of last night, but didn't know there was any other issue going on.

I will appreciate any transparency you're able to provide, Eric.

Eric, do you mean you suspended his account? I don't know how I feel about that - Mike's been great and obviously something is up, so keeping the comm lines open would be best I think. I really hope this gets worked out and Mike comes back.

 
I would be comforted to know that not only was Mike's situation given the kind of dispassionate analysis and polite discourse that we're asking the Mod staff to maintain when dealing with trouble, but that due to his long-time membership and service as a Mod that he was given an extra measure of understanding. "More rope with which to hang himself," if you will.

I agree, but who knows what has been said between him and Eric directly. My loyalties are obvious, but I agree that Mike has earned the benefit of the doubt and I trust Eric to do what's right by him and in regards to this board. If Mike doesn't like what is going on here, it is certainly his right to walk. If this is the case, I say 'good luck' to him in all his endeavors.

Zoog's I don't feel good about it either. This went downhill so fast. He PM'd me with a list of allegations and then used profanity in an email to admin@huskerboard.com. He also posted a sarcastic remark in recent board updates as I said. We need to understand we started this board and spent hours...hundreds of hours not just posting, but advertising...building interest, etc.

The recent discussion we are having here is only the tip of the iceberg. The issues he is having date far back and should have been raised months ago. Right now, I simply don't trust him. This sucks and sucks bad.

The lines of communication have been open. I have constantly asked for imput and points of view. Think about it, I could have simple said no this is it in one sentence and deal with it. That's not what I want...just like that's not what I want in the forums.

I don't know what I'm going to do. This sucks.

I know what your saying. But he really fired at me pretty good, mkae a lot of crappy accusations and it's going to be hard to over look. OUt of respect for Mike's wishes I cannot post what he said here just now. He wants it kept out of the forums.

I will say it again, transparency is a priority.

 
For what it's worth, I enjoyed Mike, and appreciated all he did for the board as a mod and a member. I looked up to him, and still do. I think he always did what was best for HB, in his own way. IMO he has earned his spot here no matter what happens.

That said, I am with DJR as we do not know what was said, and in the same, I am with ETR in the same respects.

Humph. Wow.

Well, you answered my concerns with this, Eric. I hope you understand that my questions were simply due diligence. The underlined part above is really unfortunate, and while I know Mike as a passionate guy, I'm sorry his passion steered him in this direction. Who knows what's going on and why, but you had to do what you had to do, Eric. We've got your back in this situation, rest assured. Mike isn't "the bad guy" but he's put himself in an untenable position.

Whatever ends up happening (and I'm not sure there's much to do going forward but move on), but I'll choose to remember the best things about his time here. In one of his last PMs to me, discussing his stepping down as a Mod, he closed with this, "Take good care of her Knapp, she means alot to me." Whatever happened at the end, he cared about this board and the people here.

 
I always liked our interaction and discussing problem "children" on the board. He may have had a pretty quick trigger finger(just the opposite of me) and respected him for being a no nonsense kinda guy when it comes to what is right/wrong posting on the board. Hope things work out for everyones best interest. Just have to keep moving forward.
