Husker Nation – North Carolina Revival, Tuesday, August 12th

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There has been a revival of Husker spirits in the State of North Carolina and you can be part of it! Come renew your faithful vows to the Cornhuskers by participating in our initial Husker Nation meeting at Picasso’s Sports Bar & Café, 1301 East Blvd. in Charlotte, NC, on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at 7 PM. We have reserved the back room for our meeting.

At the initial Husker Nation meeting, we will discuss ways to engage all Husker fans in North Carolina. We will discuss future watch sites, other ways to promote the University of Nebraska, and look for opportunities to network with other Big Red professionals in North Carolina. We are also looking for board members to fill necessary roles. Surely a discussion of Bo Pelini and stories of Husker lore will also ensue.

Whether you are a Nebraska Alum, a Nebraska native, or just someone that loves Nebraska football, we would like for you to attend. In order for us to have a recognized Husker Nation chapter, we still need signatures of Nebraska Alumni Association members, but would love for everyone to feel welcome.

If you cannot attend, but would love to be involved or notified of the next North Carolina Husker Nation meetings or North Carolina Husker Football watch site, please email Aaron Beck at aarontbeck@gmail.com or Tim Zuraff at tpzuraff@aol.com.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday night! Remember, a Husker Championship is just around the corner!

I have recently moved to Carrboro (NC) after living in Nebraska for 30 years -- and loving the Huskers the whole time! I'm going through Husker withdrawals and would like to get involved with anything Husker related!

I stumbled across this website this morning while looking for a website where I could listen to the game today.

Is Sammy's a good place to go on game day?

It's been a few years since I've been in Raleigh for a game, but there would be 50-100 Husker fans at Sammy's. They treated us well there. Sometimes the game wouldn't go on a big TV until a previous game was over if it was for another team that used Sammy's as a watch site (like Florida, I recall once), but as soon as their game was over the TV was switched.

Check out NCHUSKERS.COM. This is the website of the official North Carolina Husker Nation Chapter. There are many things going on with this chapter of Husker fans. This is a newly created chapter but is gaining momentum each week. Great way to connect with other Huskers and watch games. GO BIG RED!!

Anyone know of any place in the OBX that will have the Fla. Atlantic game on TV? Our rental house does not have satellite, so I can not purchase the PPV there!
