I put a ban on HuskerHacker, and if any kind Admin would like to make it permanent, that'd be groovy.

Background - we've gotten reports and I've gotten PMs complaining about his negativity/trolling in the baseball forums. I've watched him on and off this past season and he has nary a kind word to say about the team, and anyone who disagrees with his very negative stance on Erstad & Co. gets a load of grief from him.

Here's an example, now in the Junkyard, of how he derails threads and bitches at anyone who disagrees with him. Read his post and the several after: LINK Pay attention to this post, where he basically admits trolling.

He was flooding the baseball forum with crap during the Big Ten tournament so I put him on timeout until it was over. He came back today and sent this PM:

Your account has been suspended for 30 days for trolling game threads. Constant negativity during games, and only when the Huskers are down, is trolling. It stops.

So I gave him another suspension for that little gem, only to see this post (which is now in the Junkyard), his first post back from suspension:

I'm thinking he does this just to get a rise out of people. That or he's just a raging a$$. Either way, we're better off without him.

This is the email he sent after his most recent suspension/ban:

I was IMO, unfairly suspended for 30 days by knapple (how ever its spelled) though I never protested.



I posted one post today following my suspension expiration and was again banned.

I can’t read the banned mail (as I’m banned AGAIN thereby making it impossible to read) so I’ve no idea what knapple banned me for this time.

Admittedly, I privately replied to his first ban message with a derogative comment but nowhere in the rules does it say using profanity in a private message (one I’m sure has been said many times without banning) constitutes banning.



It’s very VERY obvious that Knapple has a power grab issue or is out to make my experience on HB miserable. His comments in threads I’ve started indicate he’s never liked me and more then once broke the rules of publicly attacking someone personally without any repercussions. I don’t know if it was him who again banned me but I’m asking for someone to intervene on my behalf for the following:



  • that my current suspension be removed
  • that he (knapple) is directed to leave me alone
  • that he (knapple) is accountable to his negative comments in the same regards that he has made me accountable.

It's all well and good to play the humble victim now, but he sure didn't have this tone throughout his tenure here at HuskerBoard. And while I have been watching him lately, I have no idea what he's talking about with this personal vendetta against him. I rarely post in the forums he frequents, and usually only after receiving complaints. About him.

 
There was a question in my junk mail allegedly from huskerpringle? Wanting to know why he was banned.

Don't know if legit; but throwin' it out there.

 
That's HoogiePringle. That's someone's sockpuppet.

You know the name Hoogie Pringle from me. That's my dad's name for "Joe Schmoe." It doesn't exist anywhere but my dad's mind and my childhood memories. I used that name as a generic "somebody" HERE back in 2010. Someone read that name and used it here as a joke. If I can't claim copyright on that, my dad can.

 
Done. He sent me the same email directly to me as well as to the Mods email address. He's posting through more than 20 IPs (all banned) so we may have to do some wildcard bans on those ranges if he surfaces again.

HoogiePringle shares the same IP address (for registering and posting) with reversecamelclutch and donkeykongsuh. What's odd is that for the first one, there are supposedly two posts - but when I click to view them, there's nothing. The second name has 12 posts - but, again, when I click I get nothing. Anyway, I'll respond to him as well.

Well, he's claiming that he only has one account. I'm not biting, and I'm not replying. Even if it isn't a sock, it's no coincidence how he came up with the name.

Just a quick note - hoogie came back today as @Chimalli (click the name for his profile).

I'm inclined to let him be and pretend we don't know who he is. The name was the thing that always bothered me. If he doesn't cause problems, I'd recommend allowing him to return.

 
New user loebarth is using an IP address that was previously exclusively used by @HuskerHacker

It's been seven years so perhaps a wait-and-see approach is in order - and it could be someone completely different after that time.  Just a heads-up.
