There's been a fair amount of speculation about whether Nebraska would need to abandon the peso defense to handle some of the power rushing attacks in the Big Ten. If the Huskers were to go to a more traditional 4-3 defensive front, then perhaps the additional linebacker could help stuff the run. Those following the early 2012 recruiting cycle may notice that Nebraska seems to have made more offers to linebackers than any other position. Is this a sign of what's to come?
A look at offers from Nebraska at Scout.com reveal a total of ten offers to linebackers, including the only commitment for 2012, Kansas City product Michael Rose. With less than 50 known offers made, that's a lot of emphasis on a position that might require just one or two players for the starting unit.
