I know Danny Woodhead has been discussed...

My son went to Chadron. Solich was looking at Danny Woodhead.... then he got fired! Woodhead was 5'8" and 170 and thus didn't get big school attention. He's bulked up a bit now.

Good to see the kid doing so well!

McBride mentioned that the old staff would have probably given him a shot at Nebraska (Meaning the Osborne years) on some radio show a couple of weeks ago. Said they wanted players didn't care what their ratings were.

For some reason I was just thinking about this guy. I hadn't seen a thread like this on any board for a while, so I started wondering...

I realize he's a feel good story for Nebraskans but seriously do you really think he's better than what we have? I know you can't compare them because they play in two totally different leagues, but I remember all the hype Thunder Collins received coming out of juco. I also remember how bad he stunk up the place while playing at NU. I think Woodhead could have made the team, but I just can't see Keller rolling out and trying to find Woodhead for a dump off pass.

For me, I think it's more the fact that we'll never know if he is "better than what we have." I tried to allude to Darren Sproles, one of KSU's best backs in their history, showing that size should have nothing to do with it.

Sproles made KSU's season in 2003/2004. He is now a kick returner for the Chargers.

We gave Thunder Collins a chance....Danny Woodhead...we didn't. That's the difference.

He's going to be on ESPN 2 in a few weeks nationally when Chadron State plays UNK . . . the exact date evades me.
The CSC vs. UNK game will be on CSTV in two weeks.... see the following press release from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference:

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is pairing with College Sports Television (CSTV) to air Chadron State College at Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday, Oct. 18. The game, which will be produced and aired live on CSTV, will also be available live on Altitude Sports and Entertainment Network and Nebraska Educational Television-2 (NET-2). Fans can also view the game on-line at http://www.cstv.com/ncaa/divii/. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. (CST).
