Illinois Week Pressers

Both team HC's and both staff praising each other and praising the defenses.

Both expect a 4-quarter physical football game, with a loud, fun atmosphere.

Everything hints that this will be a great match up.  Just bring the popcorn and enjoy the show.

Huskers are currently 7.5 point favorite though...

I am guessing it's because.....

3 point lean for playing at home (it does make a difference)

3 point lean for a Friday Night Game in Lincoln

1.5 point lean for the #400 consecutive sellout (extra crowd juice)

I cannot not wait to see this game.  Sounds like a defensive slug fest is in the works for most of the game, and maybe some weather.

But will it be close? Or a struggle for both teams?

Or maybe, will the home team rally together and put up some points, enough to win ?!!

No spread factors in 7.5 points for home field advantage.  1.5 for extra crowd juice??  Not sure if you have been to a home game this year but I personally don't believe it can get any better than it has been.  Our crowd has been off the charts.

On paper, Nebraska is the better team.  The game opened at anywhere from NU -10 to -8.5.  It has gone down slightly because of betting trends on IL.  I really believe this ends up as a 2+ score victory but it will leave NU fans "concerned" because IL will have some success... reality sets in that we aren't quite a national championship team just yet.
