My wife works in the er too. She is a RN. Its either so hectic that she feels like she will lose her mind, or so boring that she can barely stay awake.
She comes home every morning and vents. The stories that she tells me are freaking unbeleivable sometimes.
Im sure you know exactly what she is talking about.
I work Endo putting people to sleep prior to sticking 6 foot tubes up their rectums but have floated to ER enough to know young bodies need to work there. Some of my classmates work the ER and always try to recruit me. But in Endo we only have maybe 3-5 Code Blues a year and mostly just respiratory so you bag'em and ship'em to ICU. I know how she feels though. The first time I floated to the ER it was a sloooooowwwwwwww Wednesday nite. I was just about to say the S word when they all screamed at me to shut up. Hence the post on jinxes.
