JJ's Ignore List of Infamy

So you go to lunch during the day with clients (whose cups you hope to spit in, if they’re OU fans, while they’re in the bathroom) but at night you’re a super surgeons assistant providing urgently needed information? Cool.
No.  I’m quite positive I said colleague.  And would I actually spit in his cup, no.  But maybe there are no lunch breaks or jokes in JJ the Warriors world.

Nor did I say I’m a super surgeons assistant.  I don’t work for any surgeon.  But yes I do provide information during procedures.   Interesting how you try and “re-frame” what someone said in order to belittle them.  Why?  How does that provide satisfaction to your life?

Your problem is that you just won’t stand for any criticism of the drug industry. Try acknowledging that things aren’t perfect and could be better and this whole stupid discussion wouldn’t have happened
That’s not what actually happened no matter how much you want to “re-frame” the events.  You made a blatantly wrong statement about the FDA and patent protection.  Drug prices could certainly be cheaper.  Biden washed away fighting for MFN.  That would lower prices.  Cut out the middle men.  That would lower prices.  Cap the yearly amount of price increases.  That would lower prices.

Industry has had its issues and many companies have been fined tremendous amounts of money for it.  Industry used to be more of a Wild West in the ‘80’s early 90’s.  It’s not the case anymore like you suggested.   I don’t mind criticism at all.  Just make it be accurate and that’s not too much to ask.

Next time, put the keyboard down, take a few breaths, check your blood pressure, take a walk.  Then maybe you will not be such an a$$

The only claim I made was that the FDA helped protect drug companies profits by reducing generics competition through protection periods, be those patent or exclusivity. That is absolutely a true statement. I can’t help it if you can’t keep straight who said what in a discussion. If you don’t agree then you’re stupider than I thought and more in the bag for big pharma than is healthy. If you do agree, then why all the hysterics?  f#&%ing tool.

Maybe also give me some examples of the FDA being in the tank for  “Big Pharma”

I’ve got an example of how the FDA protects the profits of big pharma.

Why do they prevent access to so many generics in the US that are available much cheaper in other countries? I have drugs that I order from a Canadian pharmacy. They are made in India and shipped through all sorts of countries (Singapore, Germany, etc.) on their way to my mailbox. Cost for the name brand in the US for this particular Rx is about $850 for a 30 day supply. The FDA won’t allow the (any) generic to be sold here. I get a 90 day supply for about $275 from Canada. This is only one example of one drug. There are hundreds of these situations. That is a $9100 cost difference, per year, for one prescription, for just little ol’ me.

So what is the rationale and purpose of the FDA to make it impossible to get these cheaper generic drugs from US pharmacies?

My response to that is below:

90% of all Rx’s are filled generic.  One would think that if the FDA protects Pharmaceutical company profits, this number would be much much much much lower

without knowing your specific drug it’s hard to say.  My guess is that the Brand name drug is either still under patent protection, or the generic company hasn’t submitted an ANDA yet?

It is under patent protection……in the US. There are multiple versions available everywhere except here. The manufacturer sells it under a couple different names, much cheaper, in other countries.

So my next question is, why does the FDA allow them to be patent protected for such a long time? If you tell me so that the mfg can recoup their R&D costs, I’m going to call BS and we’ll be done.

My response is below:

Then I guess we are done unless you can tell me what the appropriate number of years of patent protection should be if you know what the current number is.

That was the two posts that have seemed to set you over the edge into Keybord Warrior status. Rough depressing life it must be if that’s what it takes.

Are drugs not allotted time to recoup costs and generate profit and shareholder returns?  I notice you never answered the question of what an appropriate protection time should be.  You just b!^@hed and moaned and said you already knew everything about it.  Quite sad.

But of course, it must be somebody else’s fault because you can’t follow a logical sequence of discussion. Since you know everything apparently, why don’t you tell us how long drug maker’s profits should be protected by the FDA (the government agency that should be looking out for the consumer instead of big company profits).  Wait. Let me guess. Things are perfect the way they are? On second thought, nevermind. It is useless conversing with you. We all know what you’re going to say and do before you do. Pathetic.

And @Archy1221, what makes you think I’m upset, angry, raised blood pressure, etc? Im perfectly calm. Apparently you’re not used to people calling out your horses#!t and speaking bluntly to you. I don’t suffer fools and I don’t suffer pompous pricks. You check both boxes d******d.

It’s pretty obvious.  Doesn’t take a genius to figure it out

I don’t suffer fools and I don’t suffer pompous pricks.
You must live under quite the conundrum then.  The back and forth you go through on whether you suffer yourself or not!  Would probably make quite the psychological case study.

I followed it just fine.  Actually posted it for you!

I never said this.  It’s you claiming something false again.  Just said I know more about the situation than you in particular which becomes more and more obvious the more you post.  So thank you!

I don’t have a problem with the current set up.  It’s you that has the issue and still won’t give a recommendation after the third ask and now onto the fourth.

Wait. Let me guess. Things are perfect the way they are? On second thought, nevermind. It is useless conversing with you. We all know what you’re going to say and do before you do. Pathetic.
I already gave three different things that would help being down drug prices, you must have been to angry to read or understand them.  Take a few breaths, get a moment of zen and try reading again.

Despite the thread title, i don't think the participants understand the concept of Ignore.
I understand the concept. It can be hard to follow through though, especially when others quote them and you end up seeing a lot of their posts anyway. I try but fall off the wagon once in awhile.
