NFL reopens Brown investigation, Brown not going to London

http://www.latimes.com/sports/sns-bc-fbn--giants-brown-20161020-story.html

Josh Brown's future with the New York Giants and possibly the NFL is in jeopardy after police released journal entries and emails in which the place-kicker admitted that he repeatedly verbally and physically abused his former wife.
Apparently the NFL has known about this for years and has don't little to nothing about it.

Personally, I feel that his behavior is not representative of the University of Nebraska and and mentions of his name on promotional material or any memorabilia hung up on campus should be removed. He did play ing games, so he should still be a part of official statistics and records, but any other mentions .

Kris Brown was my favorite Husker kicker. Let's keep his stuff unless he starts beating up women.
Well Ralph Brown was one of my all time favorite Huskers. So let's keep his stuff too. Unless he starts beating women, that is.

Not sure why the NFL is responsible for his personal life.

If they hadn't set a certain precedent with Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson, this might be a decent point.
I thought the NFL should stay out of those situations also. We have a legal system for legal things. Seems a bit of an overreach for the NFL to be investigating and punishing their employees beyond the legal system when the crimes do not affect their jobs directly.

I do understand the fan reaction/PR/marketing dilemma of these situations though so I'm not sure there is an easy answer.

This is sad on many levels. First and foremost for his wife and the children involved undoubtedly for having to be subject to his physical and emotional abuse. Secondly for Brown as he obviously wasn't hiding the fact that he had been abusive given those journal entries and he obviously felt faith was somewhat important in his life as he was one of the leaders of the Giants bible study. A kicker is the last person on a football you'd expect to hear this about. I'm glad his wife divorced him. The man needs serious serious help.

Why do you say a kicker is the last person you'd expect to hear this about?

This is extremely disappointing. He always seemed like a good guy. I lose one hell of a lot of respect for any man who would abuse a woman or children.

I hope he gets the help he needs but, this is just pathetic.
