Land of 10: Nebraska coach Mike Riley tells paper he is creating department focused solely on recruiting

Just hire all the keyboard warriors on Twitter that praise recruits then bash them when the commit somewhere else. Those guys are already experts and would certainly have a hand in landing a top 5 class next year. No doubt about it.

Very much needed, though I'd be interested in hearing how they plan to fill a full time role/division with this. I think it's a fine line between having active and engaged staff like we have currently and a "hello fellow kids" mentality. I have no doubt there's a way to get it done and we'll find a way.

This might help in getting coaches out of the NFL. The guys who love to coach but hate to recruit.
I might be wrong on this, but I don't think this recruiting department is going to eliminate or even reduce the need for coaches to recruit. I'm pretty sure the NCAA has rules on how many people and which ones (coaches) can be in contact with potential recruits.

Nebraska will be separating its recruiting operation into the existing player personnel department and a team that focuses on "acquisition;" that is, guys who look specifically at how to promote NU and attract targets to both visit the school and ultimately commit to it.
